Zoom
The first iteration of Care work ✨
A lil virtual discussion/support group around care, for those of us who love in many forms and want to learn sustainable ways to keep doing so. You can look forward to the following every second Sunday of the month (hopefully!)
🌸 Discussions around lived experiences
🌸 Engaging with Healing, Disability & Transformative Justices
🌸 Somatic practices to connect to self and others
🌸 Reading poems, listening to music and writing in community
🌸 Mapping care pods via Mia Mingus’ worksheets
🌸 Identifying, naming and attuning to our needs
🌸 Empathetic listening
🌸 Building intentional community
The suggested contribution for these sessions is R150. If you are able to pay more, please do – this allows us to offer more space to those who are supported via lower rates. (THIS FEATURE IS A PLUGIN FOR $59 ANNUALLY)
Facilitator info: Tshegofatso Senne is a Black, chronically-ill, genderqueer community worker and sangoma who does the most. Much of their work is rooted in pleasure, healing and dreaming, while being informed by somatic abolitionism and disability, healing and transformative justices. Writing, researching and speaking on issues concerning feminism, community, sexual and reproductive justice, consent, rape culture and justice, Tshegofatso has 8 years of experience theorising on the ways in which these topics intersect with pleasure. They run their own business, Thembekile Stationery, and their community platform, Hedone brings people together to explore and understand the power of trauma-awareness and pleasure in their daily lives. Tshegofatso works with young people across the continent, hosting workshops, and mentoring them around issues of pleasure and liberation, using creativity and storytelling as fractal solutions to social injustices. Their TEDx talk ‘Reimagining BDSM’ looks at the tenderness and love that reveals itself in a lifestyle often only seen through an extreme lens. Tshegofatso believes deeply in the individual and collective potential of regenerative and sustainable change, pleasure and care work.
